Terms of Use

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 14 to use Lodestar. If you have not reached the age of majority where you live, you may use it only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. Users under 14 may not create an account or use the service because no child-account or verified-parental-consent program is offered at launch. Sign in with Apple is the only third-party sign-in option in the current release. You are responsible for the sign-in method and activity associated with your account. Report suspected unauthorized use to support@duckgustudio.com.

Service and beta changes

Lodestar provides astrology-inspired reflection, AI-generated responses, saved reflection history, and subscription-based access. Features may be tested, changed, suspended, or discontinued as the service develops. We will give reasonable notice when a material change affects paid access unless urgent security or legal action is required.

You can continue the current AI reflection by replying to a follow-up question. Submitted messages, selected reference notes, and the latest completed result in that conversation can be used for the next response and to update the same private reflection record. Lodestar does not automatically remember other conversations across sessions. AI sharing is optional: choose during initial setup, then use Send normally while permission is enabled. You can change that choice in Profile. Local notes remain available without AI permission. The Privacy Policy explains the recipient, information sent, retention, and withdrawal.

AI-related limitations

Astrology interpretations and AI responses are for reflection and entertainment. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable and are not medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Lodestar is not an emergency or crisis service.

You may write about sensitive personal subjects, but do not submit another person’s confidential information without authority. Lodestar applies safety checks and may interrupt ordinary generation to show crisis-support options; those safeguards cannot replace a trusted adult, qualified professional, or emergency service.

Subscriptions, renewal, and cancellation

• Lodestar does not offer a free trial. On-device notes remain available without Plus. New AI reflections require valid Lodestar Plus access.
• The intended United States prices are US$4.99 per month and US$49.99 per year. Korean and Japanese prices are not yet decided. The price, currency, tax, and billing period shown on Apple’s purchase confirmation screen control the transaction.
• Monthly and annual subscriptions are purchased through Apple StoreKit and automatically renew under the App Store terms unless canceled through Apple account settings.
• The studio website does not accept payments. Review the total price, billing period, renewal date, and cancellation terms on Apple’s purchase screen before confirming a purchase.
• Manage or cancel renewal from Lodestar’s profile or Apple account subscription settings. Deleting the app or your Lodestar account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancellation stops future renewal; the remaining access period is shown in your Apple subscription settings. Cancellation alone is not a refund request.
• If a recurring price increases or a free offering is later changed to paid recurring billing, the notice and consent required by applicable law must be completed before the charge. For Korean transactions covered by Article 13(6), consent to the change date, before-and-after prices, and payment method must be obtained within the 30 days before the change, together with notice of cancellation conditions, methods, and effects. Agreement to these Terms alone is not that consent.

Refunds and withdrawal rights

For an App Store purchase, request a refund through reportaproblem.apple.com. For unavailable paid features, duplicate charges, or unresolved complaints, contact support@duckgustudio.com so we can investigate and assist with the applicable remedy. Apple handles its payment process; this does not remove any obligation Duckgu Studio has under mandatory consumer law.

Where Korean e-commerce law applies, withdrawal is generally available within 7 days after receiving the contract document, or after supply begins if it is later. A restriction for services or digital content whose supply has started applies only when the statutory conditions are met. Digital-content restrictions require clear advance disclosure and the legally required trial, preview, or other measures. For divisible services or content, the part whose supply has not started remains subject to withdrawal rights.

If the service differs from its description or the contract, the statutory withdrawal period is 3 months after supply and 30 days after you knew or could have known of the issue. A minor or their legal guardian may cancel a purchase made without required guardian consent, as permitted by law. Refund amounts, timing, and any remedy for an interruption follow applicable law and the purchase terms; no blanket “no refunds” rule applies.

Advertising and marketing

The current release does not include an advertising SDK and does not request or display ads. If advertising is considered later, Duckgu Studio will first update the applicable policy and terms, provide advance notice, and obtain consent or provide opt-out controls where required by law. Any future ads must remain non-personalized, must not target minors, must not use AI or journal content, birth information, or sensitive information for targeting, and may appear only to eligible free users on neutral screens.

Optional marketing email and push notifications are currently inactive. They may be enabled only after the applicable policy and required choices and opt-out controls are updated to match the implemented configuration. Opting out of marketing will not stop service messages such as receipts, security notices, or support replies.

Your content and acceptable use

You retain rights in reflection text you submit. You grant Duckgu Studio and its processors only the limited rights needed to transmit, process, store, and display it to operate Lodestar.

• Do not use Lodestar unlawfully, infringe another person’s rights, or submit content you have no right to process.
• Do not attempt unauthorized access, evade access controls, reverse engineer protected service components, automate abusive traffic, or interfere with operation.
• Do not use generated output to harm, deceive, discriminate against, or make high-impact decisions about another person.

Intellectual property, suspension, and deletion

Lodestar, excluding your submitted content, and its software, visual design, text, and branding belong to Duckgu Studio or its licensors. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use it.

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, material breach, abuse, or user protection. You may delete your account, but Apple subscription cancellation remains a separate process.

Availability, warranties, and liability

The service is provided on an available basis and may contain beta defects or interruptions. To the extent permitted by law, Duckgu Studio does not promise uninterrupted service or the accuracy of AI-generated results. We do not exclude liability where doing so is prohibited, including liability arising from intent, gross negligence, or mandatory consumer protection.

Governing law and fair interpretation

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes will be handled by a court having jurisdiction under applicable procedural law. This does not deprive consumers of mandatory protections or local forum rights. These Terms will be interpreted fairly and reasonably.
