Terms of UsePrivacy PolicyLodestar
Scheduled effective date — October 1, 2026

This version is scheduled to take effect on October 1, 2026. Self-service access is limited to users aged 14 or older; a user who has not reached the age of majority where they live must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. Users under 14 are excluded because no child-account or verified-parental-consent program is offered at launch. The operator is currently exempt from Korean mail-order-sales business reporting because it is registered as a simplified VAT taxpayer. If that status changes or reporting becomes required, the applicable report information will be added. Analytics, marketing email, push notifications, processors, international transfers, consent choices, and store disclosures must match the released configuration before the corresponding feature is activated.

These Terms govern the current free beta of ExcelEscape (칼퇴시트), operated in the Republic of Korea by Choi Hansol, a sole proprietor registered under the trade name Lodestar and operating the Duckgu Studio brand. Its future commercial status is undecided. By using the service after these Terms take effect, you agree to them.

Eligibility

You must be at least 14 to use ExcelEscape. If you have not reached the age of majority where you live, you may use it only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. Users under 14 may not use the service because no child-account or verified-parental-consent program is offered at launch.

Beta service and progress

ExcelEscape is a puzzle experience provided as a free beta. Features, puzzles, routes, and availability may change, be reset, or be discontinued during development.

On the current `/work` route, progress is saved only in that browser’s localStorage. Clearing browser data, changing browsers or devices, or using private browsing may make progress unavailable. The legacy `/play` route may create an anonymous Firebase account and synchronize its session and progress.

Accounts and sign-in

Google sign-in is optional; Apple sign-in is not currently active. You are responsible for activity associated with your account and must not access another person’s account. Report suspected unauthorized use to support@duckgustudio.com.

Free beta

The current implementation is a free beta with no payment or subscription feature. Its future commercial status is undecided. If advertising or a paid offering is introduced later, the applicable data use, price, billing and cancellation terms, age protections, and any required consent will be presented before activation or charge.

Advertising and marketing

The current build does not show ads, and the service will launch without ads. A dormant manual Google AdSense home-page slot remains in the source but is disconnected from the application and hard-disabled for this release. If advertising is considered later, Duckgu Studio will first update the applicable policy and terms, provide advance notice, and obtain consent or provide opt-out controls where required by law. Any future ads must remain non-personalized with teen treatment, must not target minors, and may appear only on the neutral home screen. Auto Ads must remain disabled, and puzzle-cell content, inquiry content, age information, and other sensitive content must not be used for targeting.

Optional marketing email and push notifications are planned but are not active. They may be enabled only after the service provides the required choices and opt-out controls, and opting out will not stop service messages such as security notices or support replies.

Permitted use and intellectual property

You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable right to play the service. The puzzles, software, visual design, text, and branding belong to Duckgu Studio or its licensors.

  • Do not reproduce, sell, redistribute, or publicly provide substantial game content except where law permits or Duckgu Studio authorizes it.
  • Do not attempt unauthorized access, bypass security, submit malicious code, automate abusive traffic, or interfere with users or service operation.
  • Do not use the inquiry form for unlawful, threatening, infringing, deceptive, or spam content.

Inquiry content and access restrictions

You retain rights in inquiry content and grant Duckgu Studio only the limited rights needed to receive, store, review, and respond to it. Do not submit confidential third-party information unless authorized.

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, material breach, abuse, or protection of the service and its users.

Availability, warranties, and liability

Because the service is in beta, bugs, loss of progress, and interruptions may occur. To the extent permitted by law, Duckgu Studio does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or preservation of local progress. We do not exclude liability where doing so is prohibited, including liability arising from intent, gross negligence, or mandatory consumer protection.

Governing law and fair interpretation

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes will be handled by a court having jurisdiction under applicable procedural law. This does not deprive consumers of mandatory protections or local forum rights. These Terms will be interpreted fairly and reasonably.

Changes and contact

Material changes will be announced before taking effect. If applicable law requires consent, we will request it. Support: support@duckgustudio.com. Privacy: privacy@duckgustudio.com.
